Candles

When it comes to shopping for candles - the scent and colour shouldn’t be the only factor to consider.
Candles can be made from a variety of different wax materials, with each wax having different properties that affect the performance. Let’s talk about soy wax!

 What is soy wax?

Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it a solid at room temperature. The leftover bean husks are commonly used as animal feed.

Why choose soy wax?

Soy wax is made from environmentally friendly, renewable resources, compared to classic paraffin wax which is made from petroleum and is non-renewable.  Not only these are an eco-friendly 100% biodegradable option to over a different type of candle wax, but soy wax also burns slower than paraffin wax, meaning you get a candle that lasts longer. Also, another soy wax advantage - these are black smoke free, so they are harmless to the human body and all the nature!

Here at SHILPWARE, we believe that this could be a great trait to obtain going forward, as the future will embrace and reward people who think out of the box and are resourceful, therefore, we are always looking forward to bringing more vegan friendly candles for our loyal customers.
